A New Twist on the Easter Bunny

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

RabbitAre you & the kids tired of the same old Easter Stuff? In the weeks leading up to Easter, all the talk is about “The Easter Bunny.” So, it’s no surprise that many children beg for a bunny of their own. Unfortunately, many people buy rabbits on a whim without understanding the care they require. As a result, rabbits are the third most surrendered pet–many appearing in shelters in the weeks after Easter. In an attempt to bring this situation to the forefront, DuPage County Animal Care & Control is promoting two alternatives that also benefit the shelter. Help spread the education mission by purchasing something from Make Mine Chocolate or adopting a stuffed rabbit.

When you think about it. . .wouldn’t you rather have chocolate anyway!

Where’s Santa Claws?

Monday, December 1st, 2008

The holidays are in full swing and Burt’s dog pals can’t wait to have their picture taken with Santa! And, boy, does Santa have a busy weekend coming up!

On December 6, Santa will lend his lap for pictures benefiting HELP (Homes for Endangered and Lost Pets) at the St. Charles location of The Animal House Veterinary Hospital. You will receive a 4×6 photo for a $10 donation–reservations suggested.

The next day, December 7, Santa’s off to Glen Ellyn for a visit to The Bellyrub Klub from 11AM-3PM and will pose with your pooch for a $5 donation. If you don’t have a pet yet, no problem. Check out the adoptable pets from Angel4Paws and Dupage Animal Care & Control or just have fun shopping & picking out treats for a “grandpuppy.” Reservations suggested.

For more of Santa’s stops, check the events page of our website.
